Description
1926-D Mercury Dime, MS67
Toned Full Bands Example
Tied for Finest Known
1926-D 10C MS67 Full Bands PCGS Secure. CAC. Unlike the
quarter dollar and nickel of this date and mint, the 1926-D Mercury
dime is plentiful with a sharp strike. However, Full Bands
representatives become scarce finer than MS65, and Superb Gems are
decidedly rare. This MS67 Full Bands coin is tied for the finest
1926-D dime known. We have previously handled a top-grade example
of this issue on only five occasions, including an earlier
appearance of this coin. It showcases luminous mint luster and
sharp definition. Lilac and green-gold toning across the interiors
cedes to deeper orange-gold and amber border toning. The
preservation is exceptional. Population: 5 in 67 Full Bands, 0
finer. CAC: 3 in 67, 0 finer (11/18).Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 9/2010), lot 3843, which realized $35,937.50.
