Description

1938-S Dime, MS68 Full Bands
Top-Grade Registry Candidate

1938-S 10C MS68 Full Bands PCGS. Ex: Gerald R. Forsythe Collection. Remarkably, the Mercury dime design outlasted Standing Liberty quarters, Buffalo nickels, Peace dollars, and even Theodore Roosevelt's gold pieces for series longevity. The 1938-S is seldom seen with Full Bands at Gem or finer grades. This Superb Gem example is sharply struck and 99% brilliant, with a feathering of charcoal-gray patina at the obverse rim. Creamy, satiny mint luster flows across each side. PCGS reports only 16 examples in MS68 including one in 68+, with none finer (3/24).(Registry values: N1793)
