Appealing 1942/1-D Dime, AU58

1942/1-D 10C AU58 NGC. FS-101, formerly FS-010.8. Very scarce in all grades, and rare in Mint State, having escaped detection for about twenty years. The silver-gray surfaces of this near-Mint example retain considerable luster, and exhibit well defined design features. The middle bands, while not full, display a good amount of separation, and the two diagonal bands are strong. A few inoffensive marks are scattered about. Overall, a highly pleasing coin. Census: 43 in 58, 8 finer (7/08).(Registry values: N991)
