    Description

    1916-D Mercury Dime, AU53
    First Year Denver Key

1916-D 10C AU53 PCGS. The Denver mintmark has long been a thing of great desire on first-year Mercury dimes, leading many collectors to search through pocket change and bank rolls for decades in search of this elusive key date. Only 264,000 pieces were struck. The 1916-D is far and away the rarest date in the series. This About Uncirculated example is well-detailed, lacking only split definition of the fasces bands. Both sides have slate-gray color with hints of luster. A few hairlines and other marks accompany the AU53 designation.(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 23GY, PCGS# 4906)

    Weight: 2.49 grams

    Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
