    Description

Choice AU Full Bands 1916-D Dime

1916-D 10C AU55 Full Bands PCGS. The bands of the fasces are not only the area of the Winged Liberty (or "Mercury") dime most prone to striking softness, they are also the most vulnerable to wear due to their high placement. As a result, even a coin that starts as Full Bands quickly loses that status with wear. Only a relative handful of circulated Full Bands coins are certified, usually for key dates such as the 1916-D. This Choice AU Full Bands piece is one such example, pale silver on granular interiors with a touch of blue through the centers and more reddish patina scattered along the margins.(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 23GY, PCGS# 4907)

    Weight: 2.49 grams

    Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
