    Description

    1919 Mercury Dime, Fine 12
    FS-101, Doubled Die Obverse

1919 10C Doubled Die Obverse, FS-101, Fine 12 PCGS. Bold die doubling is seen on the motto IN GOD WE TRUST. The variety significantly increases the interest of this otherwise common Philadelphia issue. PCGS has thus far attributed only 15 FS-101 examples, all in circulated grades, mostly at VG and lower levels. The current population at PCGS includes this one coin in Fine, with a VF and two XF pieces finer (3/20). Slate-gray surfaces yield deeper gunmetal-gray color around the devices. Wear is even, and the smooth surfaces are surprisingly attractive for the grade.

    Coin Index Numbers: (Variety PCGS# 545047, Base PCGS# 4922)

    Weight: 2.49 grams
