Description

1920-S Dime, MS66 Full Bands
Prohibitively Rare in Higher Grades

1920-S 10C MS66 Full Bands PCGS. More than 13.8 million dimes were struck at the San Francisco Mint in 1920, but examples are scarcely seen with Full Bands in Uncirculated grades through MS64. Gems are rare, and only a handful of Premium Gems are reported at the leading grading services. The last digit in the date is usually indistinct, but it is needle-sharp on this thickly frosted and strongly defined example. Additionally, the horizontal bands on the fasces show complete separation. Fiery orange and olive-green toning overlays most of the surface area, effectively concealing the few inconsequential ticks precluding an even higher grade assessment. Population: 9 in 66 (1 in 66+) Full Bands, 3 finer (3/18).
