Description

Charles III gold 8 Escudos 1762 Mo-MM AU55 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM155, Onza-744. Notable as the first date of issue for the "rat-nose" bust, this scarcer date remains difficult to acquire at all states of preservation, especially approaching uncirculated condition, with no examples having been certified as Mint State at NGC thus far. A mildly soft obverse strike, but very little in the way of true wear, as demonstrated by the bold reverse details. Slightly watery luster, with mild handling marks justifying the assigned grade.
