Estados Unidos silver Proof Trial Strike Onza 1980/70-Mo PR63 Cameo PCGS, Mexico City mint, cf. KM-M49b.5 (not listed in Proof), PL-112 (RRRR). An intriguing Proof striking of this popular Onza type, representing the first occasion we have had to present a specimen, and one of only three currently certified at PCGS. According to Luna Herrera, the 1979 and 1980 Proof Onzas were reportedly minted around 10 years after the dates they carry during the relocation of the Mexico City mint. We are aware of one other coming to auction, a PR64 Cameo, which brought $3500 in 2014. Not in the Gerber Collection.Privately Purchased from Antonio Guerrero in Mexico City in 2010
