Description
Ferdinand VII gold 8 Escudos 1821 Mo-JJ MS62 Prooflike NGC, Mexico City mint, KM161, Cal-1800, Onza-1272. A somewhat more fleeting War of Independence date, more often encountered from the Guadalajara mint on auction, due primarily to the paucity of surviving Mexico City-minted specimens surviving in meaningful condition. Presently the sole representative to be recognized as Prooflike in the NGC census, with just a standard finish MS63 ranking finer, this offering appears flashy from every angle with prominent die polish in the fields. For comparison, we would note that we offered an MS61 in May 2021, which brought $3960.Metal: Gold
Diameter: 37mm
