Description
Large Gold After Quartz from Northern Nevada (c.1969), The folded, twisted form of this nugget gives the impression of a large mass of crushed gold leaf, the rounded raised areas rubbed smooth by water tumbling, the crevices and depressions retaining a more textured, brittle appearance. For additional character, interspersed throughout are fragments of the opaque white quartz around which the gold originally grew. A fine large specimen, it measures approximately 4-1/8 x 3-1/8 x 1½ inches and weighs 31.38 Troy oz (over 950g). AGW 31.3800 oz.Metal: Gold
