Description

Philip V 2 Reales 1742 Mo-M MS65 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM85, Cal-826, Yonaka-M2-42. A peak-level conditional survivor that ranks well above any other example we have seen or even know of for this minor issue. Deep, watery luster glides effortlessly over pristine fields upon even subtle rotation, with overlying silver patina and traces of golden iridescence yielding an unmistakable impression of pure gem quality. For reference, we note this as tied for the finest grade of any 2 Reales currently seen by NGC throughout the entire 18th-century series.
