Description

Stunning Mexico City 4 Reales Rarity

Philip V 4 Reales 1733 MX/XM-MF MS63 Prooflike PCGS, Mexico City mint, KM94, Cal-1105. An unfathomably fine example of this already scarce emission, which generates ample collector response at any designation, let alone Choice Mint State and assigned a coveted Prooflike designation. Fully warranted, the surfaces shimmer with reflectivity, revealing a stunning cabinet tone under illumination. A firm strike yields a nearly full expression of the devices throughout as one comes to expect from these early, high-grade milled issues. Among the most enjoyable examples this cataloger has handled of this difficult assayer and mint combination. The only other example even close to the visual and conditional superiority of the current remains the D. Moore specimen, which shares the same technical assignment, but clearly lacks the superlative, making this likely the finest one is able to acquire of this immensely desirable type.
