Description

Republic 8 Reales 1840 Ca-RG AU Details (Damaged) NGC, Chihuahua mint, KM377.2, DP-Ca11 ("Extremely rare"). Die style of 1840-1868, three dots after date. Well preserved with only slight high-point wear, strong underlying luster under generally boldly struck devices and pleasant, delicate and uniform golden toning thus most attractive despite a scratch across the eagle's right wing defining the designation. Decidedly above average for this very rare variety and quite desirable as such.
