Republic 8 Reales 1897 Mo-AM MS65 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM377.10, DP-Mo85. The final date in the long-running "Cap & Rays" 8 Reales series, of surprising rarity in Gem preservation. Only three NGC certified examples have achieved such technical heights (including this one), and a single example at PCGS. Gorgeous lavender grey envelope toning enrobes this piece and the strike on the eagle's portrait is sublime.Ex. Heritage Auction 3015 (September 2011, Lot 25328)
