Stunning Mint State "Hookneck" 8 Reales
Republic "Hookneck" 8 Reales 1824 Mo-JM MS61 NGC, Mexico
City mint, KM-A376.2, DP-Mo02. Among the most iconic pieces in all
of Mexican numismatics, and always popular, especially when located
in confidently Mint State preservations as is witnessed here. A
surprisingly strong strike for the type, with each detail of the
eagle's feathers and thorns of the cacti fully rendered upon the
planchet. A light champagne aura decorates the open expanses and
lights ablaze at the flick of the wrist. Of the 131 submitted to
NGC, only 11 specimens of this date have attained a Mint State
assignment, making this a rare opportunity to own a Hookneck so
