Description
Printer Block for a USA Bar Cent. Rectangular wooden block about 124 by 21 x 26 mm, 63.6 gm. This wooden block contains round copper Bar cent-sized planchets that contain images of same. The devices are not incused as they would be on a coinage die; rather, the entire image has been transferred by some type of photo-fixing process, similar to a ferrotype.Ex: Early American History Auctions mail bid sale (4/2003), lot 1224.
