Description
A cane with a numismatic legacy. Numerous, various, well circulated U.S. and world coins have been polished, bent, and nailed to the cane. Upon cursory inspection, the latest dated is 1911. Also attached is a white metal disk with the inscription THIS CANE/WAS OWNED BY/S.A. CHEEVER/NEWKIRK/OKLAHOMA/1906. The cane is stored in a contemporary wooden case, which is included with the lot. A store card issued by Morrison Plows was counterstamped S.A. CHEEVER/BORN 1841 and then fashioned into an oversized ring; this is also included. Definitely a conversation piece, and perhaps additionally a subject for further research.(#661906)Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 661906)
