Mint Bag for 1928 Double Eagles. This official canvas Mint bag once held 250 1928 double eagles from the Philadelphia Mint with a face value of $5,000. The imprint on the front of the bag reads: No. 117 / $5,000 / Double Eagles / U.S. Mint / Philadelphia / 1928. Delivery 117 consisted of 75,000 double eagles on May 21, 1928. The bag is in moderately good shape, although a few small holes are developing. It measures approximately: 6.3 x 13.5 inches.From The Rollo Fox Collection of $20 Saint-Gaudens Gold.
