    Description

    1989 Tenth-Ounce Gold Eagle, MS70
    In-Demand Early Bullion Issue

1989 $5 Tenth-Ounce Gold Eagle MS70 PCGS. Even though this early American Gold Eagle tenth-ounce version was distributed in the amount of nearly 265,000 pieces, few indeed survive today in the perfect MS70 grade. This PCGS-graded example is among only 19 such, and these little jewels are in great demand, much as gold dollars were 150 years ago (7/16). Sandy-gold color and excellent luster abound throughout. The last PCGS example in this grade we offered was in our ANA Signature (Heritage, 3/2016), lot 4060, which brought $2,585.(Registry values: N491)
