Low-Mintage Proof Series Key
1995-W $1 Silver Eagle PR70 Ultra Cameo NGC. Few modern U.S.
Mint issues of any series, coin program, or type can claim status
as an objectively low-mintage issue. The 1995-W Silver Eagle is one
of the few, and arguably the most famous. Only 30,125 pieces were
struck and distributed to the public, housed in five-denomination
10th anniversary bullion program proof sets. Most of the five-coin
sets have long ago been broken up for the sake of the Silver Eagle,
which is a major key date in the proof series. Flawless examples in
PR70 Ultra Cameo -- such as the current coin -- are widely sought
after. This coin is brilliant and dramatically white-and-black with
liquidlike mirroring in the fields. Eye appeal is
