    Description

    1983-S Olympic Silver Dollar, MS70
    One of Five at PCGS

1983-S $1 Olympic Silver Dollar MS70 PCGS. After the 1982 Washington silver commemorative half dollars, the modern U.S. commemorative era kicked into high gear with the 1983- and 1984-dated coins of the 23rd Olympiad in Los Angeles. The Discus Thrower silver dollar saw 174,014 nonproofs struck, yet only five have seen the ultimate MS70 grade at PCGS (3/13). This silver-white piece is perfection embodied. The S mintmark, interestingly, rises from a deep little depression in the planchet.(Registry values: N491)
