Description
1878 7/8TF Morgan, MS65+
VAM-37, CAC Approved
1878 7/8TF $1 7/4 Strong, VAM-37, MS65+ PCGS. CAC. Ex:
Sunnywood / Simpson. Various die markers identify VAM-37. VAMWorld
states: "VAM-37 is a strong 7/8 variety that shows 4 of the 8
tailfeathers from the original A reverse." Examples attributed at
PCGS are scarce, and barely a few are finer than this
Plus-designated piece. Rich orange-gold, violet, ice-blue, and mint
hues encompass the obverse, leaving the reverse brilliant. The
strike is sharp, and frosty cartwheel luster adds to the eye
appeal. Population (VAM-37): 16 in 65 (3 in 65+), 3 finer
(8/24).From The Puccini Collection of Toned Morgan Dollars.
