1878 7/8TF $1 Weak, Doubled Legs, VAM-33, MS65 Deep Mirror Prooflike PCGS. Sharply struck devices and modestly contrasted, brilliant surfaces define this Gem. Neither side exhibits bothersome abrasions. There are three VAMs of the 7/8 Tail Feathers Variety: VAM-41, 44, and 33. The present example is a clashed late die state of VAM-33, which is characterized by doubled dies on the legs and heavy die polishing throughout both sides. Bowers notes that, "this may be the single most sought-after specialized variety in the series."
