    MS64+ Deep Mirror Prooflike

    1878 7/8TF $1 Weak MS64+ Deep Mirror Prooflike PCGS. CAC. VAM-41A. The VAM-41A variety is known as the "Weak" 7 over 8 tailfeathers variant as excessive die polishing has removed much of the underlying feather details. This piece exhibits profound mirroring in the fields and softly frosted central devices, delivering a pleasing cameo appearance. The strike is sharp, and the light, scattered surface grazes are not outwardly detracting. A light amber crescent is seen from 6 to 9 o'clock on the obverse, while the remainder of each side is untoned. Population: 34 in 64 (1 in 64+) Deep Mirror Prooflike, 4 finer (5/14).(Registry values: P5)
