Gem Deep Mirror Prooflike 1878 7 Tailfeathers
Reverse of '78 Dollar, Tied for Finest Certified
1878 7TF $1 Reverse of 1878 MS65 Deep Mirror Prooflike PCGS.
CAC. The 1878 7 Tailfeathers with Reverse of 1878 is
considerably more common than the Reverse of 1879, but the issue is
not at all common with Deep Mirror Prooflike surfaces, as here.
Some coins show a moderate degree of prooflikeness, but this piece
shows wonderfully bold reflectivity and the coveted black-on-silver
contrast seldom seen for the issue. Deep Mirror Prooflike Morgans
are not only among the most attractive and sought-after silver
dollars, they have also held up quite well in most numismatic
markets. A sharply struck and thoroughly delightful Gem example,
among the dozen finest graded at PCGS, with 11 more at NGC and none
