1878 Morgan Dollar, MS66
Seven Tailfeathers, Reverse of 1878
1878 7TF $1 Reverse of 1878, VAM-196, MS66 PCGS. The seven
feathers in the eagle's tail, combined with the parallel top arrow
feather, identifies the popular Reverse of 1878. This well-detailed
Premium Gem shows the effects of die polishing on the eagle's wings
and some die crumbling on the talons. The impeccably preserved
surfaces display vibrant mint luster, with vivid greenish-gold
toning on the obverse. Population: 86 in 66 (15 in 66+), 0 finer
(7/24).Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 2/2017), lot 4548; Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 6/2018), lot 4614.
