Description
1878 8TF Morgan Dollar, MS66+
CAC Approved, Prooflike Obverse
1878 8TF $1 Diagonal In 8, VAM-17, MS66+ PCGS. CAC. Both
dies show lapping on VAM-17, which is most noticeable at Liberty's
eye and the base of the eagle's right (facing) wing. Eight
Tailfeathers 1878 Morgans are in high demand, not only as a
one-year subtype, but as the first Morgans struck. This high-end
Premium Gem displays brilliant surfaces with a bold central strike.
Only the faintest grazes are evident upon close inspection. On the
obverse, the fields show ample mirroring, while the reverse is
thoroughly frosty. The coin is a true one-side prooflike piece and
it has outstanding eye appeal overall. Any Premium Gem Eight
Tailfeathers dollar is scarce, and higher-grade coins are virtually
uncollectible. From The Badgerland Registry Set of Morgan Dollars.
