Description

1878 8TF Dollar, Colorful MS66
Doubled Date, VAM-19

1878 8TF $1 Doubled Date, VAM-19, MS66 PCGS. This Eight Tailfeathers issue exhibits peripheral splashes of yellow, magenta, and cyan blanketing the reverse, while the obverse displays a slight pinkish hue in the center with a trace of champagne around the border. A sharp strike and reflective mint luster throughout further heighten the visual appeal. VAM-19 shows a dramatic Doubled Date and other traces of doubling on the reverse legends, primarily on the words ONE DOLLAR. A spectacular example of an important VAM variety, for the advanced collector.
