Rainbow-Toned Reverse
1878 8TF $1 MS66 PCGS. VAM-17. The obverse is scarcely
toned, save for a thin amber accent at the lower rim -- but the
reverse is awash in waves of rainbow color, cobalt-blue, indigo,
amber, saffron, jade, and orange moving from top to bottom. The
patina is not so deep as to impede the excellent cartwheel luster
radiating from beneath. A prize for color enthusiasts. Population:
