VAM-6, Old-Time Toning
1878 8TF $1 Pierced Eyelid, VAM-6, MS63 PCGS. A thin
vertical die line through Liberty's eyelid earns this coin its
moniker, although peripheral obverse die cracks are a more obvious
diagnostic for the die pair. This well-struck Select example
displays sea-green, gold, amber, and blue toning across both sides,
with Liberty's portrait near-brilliant. Lustrous and well preserved
