VAM-7, CAC Approved
1878 8TF $1 Tripled E, VAM-7, MS64 PCGS. CAC. Doubling on
the left-hand stars, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the 187 of the date
identifies the VAM-7 die pair. This piece is high-end among those
attributed by PCGS, where only a single coin is numerically finer
(8/24). This piece displays vivid autumn-gold, violet, and
forest-green obverse toning, while the reverse is brilliant save
for golden warmth around the borders.Ex: A.W. Collection (Legend, 7/2017), lot 285.
