1878-CC $1 Lines in Wing, VAM-11, MS64 Deep Prooflike NGC. A
Top 100 Variety. The defining features of this popular variety are
heavy die lines at the bottom of the eagle's right wing (left
facing) and in the middle of the left wing, along with a slightly
tilted CC mintmark. This near-Gem Deep Prooflike example displays
frosty mint luster on the sharply struck design elements and deep,
liquidlike mirroring in the fields. Both sides are brilliant save
for a small cloud of light-caramel at 11:00 on the reverse. Stark
cameo contrast contributes to an energetic cartwheel effect and
provides a pleasing distraction to the light abrasions that
