Description

1878-CC Silver Dollar, MS66
Sharply Struck First-Year Example
Brilliant Obverse, Fiery Reverse

1878-CC $1 MS66 NGC. VAM-27. The inaugural issue of Carson City Morgans produced 2.212 million pieces, and collectors enjoy ample Mint State availability from the 1878-CC. Premium Gems are found with a little effort, but Superb Gems are conditionally rare and almost unattainable. With frosty luster and a sharp strike, the brilliant obverse of this Premium Gem releases an exceptional cartwheel effect, while the reverse exhibits fiery hues of amber, lavender and caramel. NGC reports only 12 numerically finer pieces (3/26).(Registry values: P4, N2998)
