Exquisite 1878-CC Dollar, MS66

1878-CC $1 MS66 NGC. This exquisitely struck Carson City Mint specimen displays smooth silver-gray surfaces that exude glowing luster. Nicely preserved, with just one minor mark on the jaw. David Bowers (2006) estimates that a little less than one-half of the 2.212 million-piece mintage was melted under the Pittman Act.(Registry values: P4, N2998)
