1878-CC $1 MS66 PCGS. Take the first year of Morgan dollar production, the coveted Carson City mintmark, and the eye appeal of a brilliant Premium Gem Morgan dollar, and one has the present coin. Radiant with satiny cartwheel luster and premium eye appeal, this piece is exceeded by only a handful of Superb Gems at both services combined (8/08). The strike is bold, save for some softness on the lower eagle, and swirling die finishing lines, raised on the coin, are noted in that same area under a loupe.
