Description

1878-CC Morgan Dollar, VAM-9, MS66

1878-CC $1 MS66 PCGS. VAM-9, CC Tilted Right, showing extensive die polishing lines on the reverse, the heaviest of which (in the late die state seen here) is a straight, thick one from the tip of the lower-left-center olive leaf to and through the O in ONE. The second C in the mintmark tilts to the right. This is an untoned (largely), solid Premium Gem example of this popular first-year Carson City issue, showing excellent preservation. Essentially the finest grade obtainable, as PCGS reports only six in MS67 finer (6/15).
