Description

1878-S $1 MS67 NGC. Numerous examples of the 1878-S were set aside at the time of issue, and such coins are often used for type purposes. This is a wonderful coin that is brilliant throughout, and it shows the usual bright, frosted mint luster. Fully struck, as always. The fields are semi-reflective and the coin has a modest, two-toned white-on-black appearance. Census: 29 in 67, 0 finer (6/07).
