Description

1879-CC Morgan Dollar, AU53
Slightly Reflective Fields

1879-CC $1 AU53 PCGS. VAM-1. The 1879-CC is one of Carson City's rarest issues, despite others having lower mintages. The survival rate is low, with Gems becoming scarce and finer examples almost unobtainable. This AU53 example exhibits mostly brilliant surfaces bordered by soft caramel-gold edges with tufts of lavender. Moderate luster and glimpses of reflectivity are exhibited, particularly on the obverse. Blending shows on the eagle's breast feathers and over Liberty's ear, and marks are consistent with AU53 pieces.(Registry values: P7, N991)
