1879-CC $1 Capped Die MS63 ANACS. VAM-3. A Top 100 Variety. A satiny pearl-gray representative of this elusive CC-mint issue. Reasonably struck and carefully preserved. The Capped Die variety is now believed to be a repunched Medium over Small CC mintmark, and is more widely collected than before its true nature was revealed.(Registry values: P6, N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 7088, GSID# 7451)
