1879-CC $1 Capped Die, VAM-3, MS62 Prooflike PCGS. A Top 100
Variety. The VAM-3 "Capped Die" variety is elusive in Prooflike
grades. This example not only has reflective fields, but the
well-struck devices are frosty and brilliant, providing stark cameo
contrast. A hint of gold toning appears around the extreme outer
peripheries. Scattered abrasions limit the grade.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 253T, Variety PCGS# 40776, Base PCGS# 7089, Greysheet# 213686)
