Description

1879-CC Capped Die Morgan, MS64
Excellent Eye Appeal

1879-CC $1 Capped Die, VAM-3A, MS64 PCGS. A Top 100 Variety. The first of the three great (although there are lesser, conditionally speaking) Carson City keys in the Morgan dollar series, the 1879-CC VAM-3 in the near-Gem condition of the present coin is in the finest condition practically obtainable: PCGS reports only 13 in higher grade levels, and they will be far more pricey, even assuming one can be found (5/15). Generous cartwheel luster complements untoned silver-white surfaces with plenteous eye appeal and a paucity of mentionable marks, consistent with the high Mint State grade. One thin but longer scrape appears on Liberty's cheek.
