Description

1879-CC Silver Dollar, MS62
Ex: GSA Hoard

1879-CC $1 GSA MS62 NGC. Normal Mintmark. Few 1879-CC dollars were part of the GSA government holdings, when just 4,123 coins were released that were in storage from the original low mintage of 756,000 pieces. This example is brilliant and frosty on the raised elements, with numerous high point abrasions from coin-to-coin contact. Partial prooflikeness remains in the lightly marked fields. Band-certified MS62 by NGC in the original black GSA holder, no box or papers. A key to the Carson City short set.
