Description

1879-CC Morgan Dollar, MS62
Semireflective Fields

1879-CC $1 MS62 PCGS. VAM-5. The 18 is doubled, the stars are slightly tripled towards the rim, there are two vertical polishing lines down from the nostril and a spike up from the nose is seen in front of the eye. This is a brilliant and frosty example from the second issue of Morgan silver dollars struck at the Carson City Mint. The semireflective fields complement an outstanding black-on-white contrast that delivers wonderful eye appeal for the grade. Generally well-struck for a Nevada release, the central devices show slight incompleteness, particularly on the reverse. Marks are scattered and typical of the grade, with both Liberty and the eagle revealing nicks just under their respective chins.(Registry values: P7, N1793)
