    Strikingly Contrasted

    1879-CC $1 MS63 Deep Mirror Prooflike PCGS. This is a stunning 1879-CC dollar and collectors should not let the fact that it is "only" a Select coin discourage aggressive bidding on this rarity. The fields are deeply mirrored on each side and the thick mint frost that Carson City dollars are known for provides stark white-on-black contrast. The strike, though not perfect, is above-average. Modest pale gray toning with gold and blue accents appears at certain angles to the light. Population: 18 in 63 Deep Mirror Prooflike, 21 finer (1/14).
