Description

Lovely Near-Gem 1879-CC Morgan Dollar

1879-CC $1 MS64 PCGS. Whispers of tan-gold color gravitate to the margins of this near-Gem Carson City issue. Attractive mint frost adorns both sides, and a powerful strike makes itself known in sharp definition on Liberty's hair, particularly that over the ear. Noticeable motif-field contrast is apparent when the coin is tilted beneath a lamp. The '79-CC becomes more difficult to acquire any finer. (Registry values: P7, N2998)
