Desirable 1879-CC Near-Gem Prooflike Dollar
1879-CC $1 MS64 Prooflike PCGS. CAC. The 1879-CC dollar is highly desired , and is one of the rarest Carson City issues. A well executed strike imparts crisp detail to the design elements, which stand out against the prooflike fields. Pastel cobalt-blue, orange-gold, and lavender patina occupies the lower left obverse of this near-Gem, while the nearly untoned reverse shows just a sliver of gold at the left margin. Some light marks just barely stand in the way of Gem classification. Population: 59 in 64 Prooflike, 7 finer (8/09).(Registry values: P7, N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 253T, PCGS# 7087, GSID# 7453)
