Description

Gleaming Gem Prooflike 1879-CC Dollar

1879-CC $1 MS65 Prooflike PCGS. CAC. Thickly frosted central devices are pleasingly detailed, and the gleaming, minimally toned fields offer moderate reflectivity. The general eye appeal is impressive, with only a handful of occasional flaws present in out-of-the-way places. The 1879-CC Morgan dollar is a prized issue in the series, particularly in Mint State, and a lack of representation in the GSA sales only reinforced perceptions of its essential rarity. Prooflikes are even more elusive, as data from the PCGS Population Report show. Population: 7 in 65 Prooflike, 0 finer (11/08).
