Description
High Grade 1879-O Silver Dollar, MS65
1879-O $1 MS65 PCGS Secure. CAC. There is no shortage of 1879-O dollars in lower Mint State grades, but securing a quality Gem is surprisingly challenging. On the present piece, the experienced collector will first note the intricate strike, which displays full detail on the hair above the ear as well as on the eagle's breast feathers. Lustrous and essentially untoned with splendidly smooth fields and only incidental grazes on the cheekbone.(Registry values: P5, N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 253V, PCGS# 7090, GSID# 7454)
