1879-O $1 MS65 PCGS. This New Orleans issue is available for a price even at the Gem level, but anything finer is a rarity, as the population of just 12 such pieces known to PCGS shows (8/09). This shining MS65 example has a remarkably bold strike and whispers of golden toning across otherwise pale silver-white surfaces.
